Realistically speaking, the vaccination will not be fully developed anytime soon, and by the time it does, the virus will have already mutated making the vaccination useless. The endgame has always been not to stop people from getting the virus, but to make sure people get it at a slow enough rate that we don't jam up hospitals. That's the whole flattening the curve thing. Despite the news/entertainment media hysteria, overwhelmingly the vast majority of people who become infected survive through it easily. So you don't want hospitals to be jammed up with people with the virus who likely won't need immediate treatment, and in the process end up not being able to treat people with immediate concerns like a wound or stroke or something.
